Facts about clownfish

  1. Most of this species look in orange, maroon and more mixed colors.
  2. More than 28 species of clownfish are in Ocean.
  3. They are omnivorous that they eat both plants and animals. Algae, plankton and leftover parts of fishes.
  4. Nemo is a species of clownfish, which have Orange color with white stripes.
  5. After release of “Finding Nemo” movie by Disney, this species named as Nemo.
  6. Nemo’s body entirely covered by the bright orange color with white stripes.
  7. They can grow maximum length up to 5 inches.
  8. Clownfish and Anemones are good friends, they help each other.
  9. Anemones don’t paralyze clownfish.
  10. Anemones help to protect clownfish from big killer fishes, likewise Clownfishes offer foods to Anemones.
  11. Clownfish are mostly eaten by large fish, eels and shark.
  12. They mostly live in the little group as mating pairs.
  13. Females lay more than 1,000 of eggs underwater of rocks in full moon day.
  14. After the death of females in the group males turns its sex as female.
  15. Male clownfish take care of eggs until they hatch out.
  16. The incubation period takes place from 6 to 10 days.
  17. Some people keep clownfishes as their pets.
  18. They can live up to 5 years.
